Administrative History | Ernest Bailey Grammar School Matlock which opened as a mixed grammar school in 1924 in premises which had formerly been Wyvern Hydropathic Establishment on New Street Matlock. The school closed in 1982 on the reorganisation of secondary education in Matlock. The building was then converted for the use of Derbyshire Record Office. |
Custodial History | These records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office in June 1983 and June 1991 by Highfield School, Matlock. The 1927 school photograph was donated in October 2019. Records of the Debating Society (D2650/20) were donated by a former pupil and society officer in August 2022. |
