Administrative History
The original congregation of Independents in Derby met at Common Yard and later at Cross Lane (now Macklin Street) between 1779 and 1783. In 1784 a church was built at Brookside (now Victoria Street) and the church was rebuilt in 1860 and again in 1963. In October 1976 Victoria Street joined with Normanton Road Congregational Church (ref D4931) and the former Presbyterian Church in Green Lane (ref D4930) to form the Central United Reformed Church (ref D4936).
