Administrative History
Edward Miller Mundy (1800-1849) and Charles Robert Colville (1815-1866), both of the Conservative Party were both elected to Parliament as the two MPs for South Derbyshire at the 1841 election in which Sir Robert Peel's Conservatives won control of the House of Commons defeating the Whigs led by Viscount Melbourne. Miller Mundy was re-elected in 1847 and served as MP until his death in 1849. Colville was re-elected twice, serving until 1859. He was re-elected again in 1865 for the Liberal Party, serving until 1868.
