Title
Letter - John Chambers to Sir John Gell in London - on Saturday last at Kedleston, hearing of the death of Gell's father, he hastened home but the post was gone - please let Gell's man Smedley take his patent of the office of receiver to Mr Polgrave, deputy auditor, in Furnival's Inn and acquaint Mr Marriott, clerk to the Queen's council, with the contents thereof and that Gell is Sir John's successor, for persons will be grasping after the place - he will be in town on Friday next
