Title
Lord John Cavendish at Devonshire House to Philip Gell - Mr Barker says that the Sheriff has refused to make any alteration in the advertisement as it is exactly as it was laid out in the letter - feels that the advertisement opens them to have all sorts of matters proposed to be inserted whereas he is against touching any point but the Middlesex election, but as it is now out, it is not worth altering - take care that there are no disputes about the manner of conducting the business. 28 Oct
