Administrative HistoryNicholas Cresswell (1750-1804) emigrated to America in 1774, returning to Edale in the summer of 1777. In 1781 he married Mary Mellor, daughter of Samuel Mellor and they had six children. His archaeological papers were amongst those in D6230
