| Administrative History | John Aaron Stevenson lived at Cliff House, Wensley. He was an ore buyer (a man who purchased dressed ore from lead miners on behalf of the smelters) and a mineral agent. Stevenson appears to have dealt with a large number of leadmines in Wirksworth, Cromford, Ashover, Hartington, Brassington and Bonsall. He also served as Assistant Overseer of the Poor for South Darley of which Wensley formed part. |
