| Description | Robert de Ferrers was made Earl of Derby in 1139 and the title Earl of Derby was used alternatively with Earl de Ferrers. The family held lands in Darley, Walton on Trent, Chartley (Staffordshire) and elsewhere. This small collection of documents (relating particularly to Walton on Trent) consists of items which were all worn, damaged and defective. Despite extensive conservation treatment much information has been lost.
