Description | The first known of the Society's competition meetings was held in 1896, for which there is a copy of the programme (see 5/1). From 1922 there is an almost complete series of programmes for the annual competitions in horse and tractor ploughing and hedgecutting, classes for livestock, vegetables, etc including children's and ladies classes. From 1927, a schedule as well as a programme was produced, the schedule listing subscribers and the classes to be competed in together with the prizes offered. The programmes duplicated some of the schedule information but add competitors' and judges' names. No events were held during the 1939-1945 war. |
