DescriptionWhereby Henry covenants to convey to Francis Cokayne of Harthill, Leonard Shaulcrosse of Shalcrosse, Raphe Blackwall of Wensley esquires, and Nicholas Browen of Marsh Hall gent. a capital messuage at Chapel en le Frith called the Great Ridge Hall with all lands etc., a watermill called Combes Mill, with other lands in Bowden, Fairfield, Pig Tor, Wormhill, and Wollow, and a watermill and lands at Ansley (co. Warwick) to the use of Thomas for the life of Henry, and on Henry's death the premises at Ansley, a messuage called Whitehills, and a third part of the lands in Chapel and Bowden (except half the Combes Mill, the Great Ridge Hall, three closes called the Herbages, closes called Longfeld, the Croft, Bridge Field, Newe Field, the Holmes, Woodend, Harth Meadow, Newe Meadow, Sore Meadow, Adcock Meadow, a burgery with toft and croft called Aspencroft, Hare Yard, Bealottes Hay, and a house) to the use of Florence, wife of Henry, for life, with remainder to Thomas; Thomas to maintain and feed Henry and Florence, their maidservant and manservant, and two geldings for their use and pay them £13 6s 8d a year for Henry's life; Thomas to pay £1000 to his brothers and sisters: to Ann, Mary, and Nicholas, £200; to Prudence and Henry, £200 each.
