TitleRev. William Alderson: has been sorry to hear of the adverse winds which have delayed Sir Henry's departure. The family at Tissington bear up tolerably well. William and he have nearly finished the first book of the odes of Horace; "I was surprised how well he construed them; he is indeed greatly improved in his classes, and I think he will become a tolerable good scholar, and I am greatly mistaken if he does not become a good and useful man"; trade in Sheffield has improved greatly - "workmen cannot be had to execute the necessary orders". 17 January
