From same: "in addition to the mass of letters that I have for the last two years been addressing to you from different parts of the globe, I sent you the other day an earnest, pressing, praying, and intreating invitation to Mudiford, and to none of all these interesting communications have you vouchsafed to reply. Now sir, unless you wish to be absolutely excommunicated, and the whole of your family at Tissington and elsewhere laid under an interdict, you had better write to me copiously and satisfactorily without delay ...". 7 July
