DescriptionHas purchased 40 prime Gold Coast 'slaves' [enslaved African peoples], half men, half women, to be distributed as follows: 4 for Blue Mountain, 24 for Grange Hill, 12 for Vere; is very pleased that Perrin has appointed Sutherland joint attorney for Blue Mountain and Grange Hill; Jaques has taken as partners, now that Ralph Fisher has died, James Laing and Humphrey Ewing; Laing is nephew to the late Malcom Laing, while Ewing is a nephew of Ralph Fisher; suggests sending them a dormant power of attorney in case of any mishap to Jaques, the London convoy has arrived minus the Amity Hall; hopes she is not lost as she was carrying supplies for Grange Hill.
