Malcom Laing to William Philp Perrin: Vere has had 7 months drought, and the crop will fall short of expectations; as it will at Blue Mountain; however, much more rum has been made at the latter this year; had hopes at the beginning of the season of netting £10,000 sterling from Blue Mountain, Grange Hill and Vere, comments on Chriton's continuing suit.
