Explains why last year's crop was so low; this year's promises well; reports on the efforts of catchecists working amongst the 'negroes'; recommends Sir Henry to take the Barbadean newspaper to keep abreast of island politics; "a disgraceful rabble ... have levelled to the ground a Methodist chapel because the preacher was obnoxious to them.
