Description | All real estate in England to be sold; to his wife, an annuity of £200 charged on his Barbados estate, over and above her jointure; to same, all furniture, jewels, linen, coach and horses, and all plate; if his wife is with child at his death, and if the child is a son, then testator leaves him all his other estate, real and personal; and if the child is a daughter, he gives her £10,000 at 18, and until such age, £100 a year for her education and maintenance; wife to be guardian of any daughter; if testator has a son and the son dies before the age of 21, then real estate and the use of testator's personal estate shall go to testator's nephew, Thomas Alleyne, son of testator's late brother Timothy; if nephew then dies without male issue, then real estate to pass to testator's brother, Reynold Alleyne and the heirs male of his body, and in default to testator's brother, John Alleyne, and in default to testator's right heirs; the following charges to be laid on the estate, if testator leaves no son: to the poor of the parish of St. Andrew, Barbados, £20 a year for ever; Thomas to pay to his uncles, Reynold and John Alleyne, when 21, £2000 each sterling, and to his aunt Judith Meynell, £1000 sterling; on gaining possession of the estate, Thomas is to release to Reynold and John all his right in estates called Mount Alleyne and the Four Hills; if he fails to do so, he is to pay Reynold £500 and John £1000 over and above their legacies; if Thomas dies before 21, legacies to Reynold and John are to be paid when he would have reached that age; if Thomas dies without issue, John is to pay legacy to Judith. Executors to be John Walker Littleton Meynell, Reynold Alleyne, and John Alleyne; and to receive £50 each, and to be guardians of testator's son, if one should be born. Will dated 6 April 1726 Codicil leaving to testator's wife £2000 sterling if testator dies without issue. Dated 6 July 1726 Codicil adding further directions: confirmation of first codicil; revocation of bequest to nephew Thomas and bequest of all personal estate and growing crops to executors in trust for Thomas when 21, and profits therefrom to be laid out in purchasing an estate in Barbados or Britain, and limited and settled to the same uses as testator's real estate in Barbados devised as above to Thomas; legacies to Reynold and John reduced to £1500 each; estate at Weston (co. Surrey) to be sold immediately by testator's brother Meynell; testator's uncle Walters, and George Jefferies esq. Dated 7 July 1727 Codicil: to Mrs. Margaret Walthers, 100 guineas; to coachman Ned, and testator's man, Will, 5 guineas each; to testator's man, Frank, all testator's clothes, linen, and wigs; to Susan Smith, £5 guineas; to all other servants, 40s. each; to the son of Albury, 5 guineas.
