Miss S Hamp Adams
has received Sir Vauncey’s
letter but ever since
she received his note
this afternoon she
has longed to send
his money back to
him. She of course
wrote to Sir Vauncey
to the effect that
he owed her £30
being one terms salary
at £90 a year. Miss
Hamp Adams has
always received her
salary thus £30 3
times a year. As
she preferred it +
she wrote this fully
to Lady Crewe. Will
Sir Vauncey say what
he thinks is due
to Miss Hamp Adams
and she will return
the £30 of course
£30 is not a
quarters salary at
£90 a year it is
absurd. Would Sir
Vauncey prefer to
pay her to the day
she leaves? She
is most frantically
sorry there is so
much bother.
