Description
Comprising court rolls for Alstonefield, 1545-1556, Warslow, 1548 and 1553, Warslow and Longnor, 1549 and 1552, and Alstonefield Warslow and Longnor, 1550
The book is bound in a parchment cover made up from a religious text with a few coloured initial letters and individual words highlighted in red ink
Loose inside the cover are:-
(i) four schedules of properties making up moieties of the lordship of Alstonefield (including for Peyshall and Lord Audeley), similar to a schedule attached to a 1515 survey in D2375/A/1/1
(ii) a note of properties referred to in court rolls
(iii) a list of courts held, 1517-1561
Loose inside book are:-
(i) a note of references to Thickwithens, Merebrooke and Smallshawes, 1422-1567/8
(ii) legal bill (2 sheets) for the period 1577-1585 for charges relating to Commission at Uttoxeter, Aug 1587, including note for John Bukerton not being able to appear in court before Ralph Stevenson, 17 Oct 1583
