Administrative History
Francis Eyre, 8th Earl of Newburgh (1794-1852) died unmarried. Margaret, Dowager Countess of Newburgh was the widow of the 7th Earl. Col Charles Leslie in a legal action claimed the Newburgh estates by right of his descent from a sister of the wife of the 6th Earl of Newburgh.
