Administrative History | Parish councils were first established by the Local Government Act of 1894. They helped to provide local public amenities and services such as street lighting, recreation grounds, footpaths and public seating as well as liaise with other local authorities over proposals or issues that might concern the area. Dethick, Lea and Holloway Parish Council acted as the Burial Board by virtue of the Burial Acts 1852 - 1906 using the cemetery at Holloway. |
