Administrative HistoryAshwell & Nesbit was founded in Leicester in 1879 by Frank Ashwell (1855-1896), when the firm's main activity was mill-wrighting. The heating department was started in 1884 and expanded from 1890. David Mein Nesbit (1855-1929) was made a partner in 1891. During the early years of the 20th century Ashwell & Nesbit continued to develop various patented systems of heating and ventilation.
