Administrative History
The National Association of Local Government Officers was founded in July 1905. In 1952 the title National and Local Government Officers' Association was adopted. In 1993 the Association amalgamated with the National Union of Public Employees and the Confederation of Health Service Employees to form UNISON.
In February 1913, members of a Provisional Committee of staff at Derbyshire County Council notified the Permanent Secretary of the National Association of their intention to form the Derbyshire County Officers' Association. In March 1913, principal officers were selected, members of the Executive Committee appointed and draft rules prepared. The Executive Committee held its first meeting in April 1913.
Custodial History
These records were transferred from the Derbyshire Branch of UNISON in December 1977, July 1979 and January 2003.
