Administrative History
The Dukes of Devonshire were lords of the manor and major landowners in Pentrich. It was a Duke of Devonshire who established the school in the village early in the nineteenth century which then became a National School supported by the National Society for Promoting the Education of the Poor. After 1903, it was called Pentrich School and later Pentrich County Primary School. THe school closed in 1960.
Custodial History
These items were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in 1974 (formerly part of D1389) and 1978.
