Further information: A letter from the NUM to Mr Kitts refers to him as 'Joe' and remarks on how he has seen the claimant daily for the past fortnight, but has not mentioned wishing appeal against the assessment before receipt of a letter from him. There is a letter detailing some information about injury benefit dated 29 June 1951 and two handwritten letters by the claimant. The appeal was against a decision of NIL per cent dated 3 August 1951 - on appeal it was assessed at 2 per cent on 4 October 1951.
