Further information: This man has sub taloid arthritis which is attributable to the relevant accident, and which is an unforeseen aggravation'. Cowlishaw wrote to Kitts, NUM Compensation Agent, 9 November 1951: 'I feel it my duty to write you a line thanking you for the manner in which you took my case at the Tribunal [...] I can see by your kind attitude to the men who belong to you that you are a very trustful representation of the NUM'. The response included: ''It is very nice to know that someone does appreciate what you try to do, although I am afraid there are many who do not realise the work that is put in on their behalf'.
