Thrombosis and ulcers of the legs followed. A later hospital letter stated: There is [...] some hysterical over-lay related to the nature of his occupation [...] and the delay in settlement of the compensation issue. [...] What the effects of Black-damp gas may be on the cardiovascular and central nervous system I have no idea'.` |
