Bacon had an accident which caused a compression fracture of the spine in 1949 and there is paperwork in relation to this. From report 1 October 1954: 'Obese. Dyspnoeic. Plethoric'. The Tribunal findings stated: 'The MInister has referred this case submitting that the degree of disablement has been under-assessed [...] a progressive condition of osteo-arthritis which was aggravated by the relevant accident'. |
