| Description | Date of birth: 03/09/1893 Marital status: Married Address: Brooklyn' 49 Brook Lane, Ripley Type of injury: Injuries - both ankles Description of accident: Cleaning coals out when a piece of coal rolled over on his legs Further information: Hunt had an accident on 6 February 1950 resulting in an injury to his left ankle. Following this he was on 'light work' cleaning up on a conveyor belt. He appealed against the decision of 20 July 1950 of 10 per cent disablement from 18 August 1950 to 17 February 1951 on the grounds that he is unable to follow his regular profession as a coal face worker. On appeal dated 27 September 1950, this decision was varied to provisional. The Tribunal's decision was that 'We think there is every hope that his ankle will be restored to normal.' |
