| Description | Date of birth: 13/04/1904 Marital status: Married Address: 20 Mundy's Row, Marlpool, Heanor Type of injury: Injury - abdominal muscles Description of accident: Mr Goodwin was lowering waggons when the crate stick broke and he strained his right side Further information: Goodwin injured himself on 8 February 1950 and was operated on 24 April 1950 as a result of this injury which was an inguinal hernia requiring surgery. The Medical Board examined him 27 June 1950 and decided that the scar is well healed but 'some difficulty in bending due to the soreness of the operation scars.' On appeal on 10 November 1950, the period of assessment was changed from 4 months to 6 months from 9 August 1950 (remaining at 20 per cent disablement). |
