Description of accident: Whilst rehousing a wood chock a steel bar flew out and hit his head
Further information: There are detailed notes from the claimant's visit to The Pastures Hospital, Mickleover 'not included in claimant's papers.' The diagnosis on admission on 10 March 1950 states 'Confusional psychosis.' There is detailed history leading up to the admission which refers to incidents in the pit in February 1949 and in 1947 when he was buried by a fall of coal. He left hospital voluntarily on 6 May 1950 and is described as 'overactive.' A letter dated 4 April 1952 is addressed to a Mr A Hough of Leabrooks asking if he can find the claimant work as the Colliery Management cannot find him anything suitable.
