Weight 15 stone at first medical in April 1950 and 18 stones in July 1952 (5'10" tall). orthopaedic surgeon's report in May 1952 includes: 'Short of a forcible manipulation under anaesthesia this man is ulikely to gain any further flexion in his knee [...] He will not therefore ever be fit for work involving long walking underground or working on his knee'. |
