Medical Board of July 1958 said: 'complains of headaches especially coming out into strong sunlight!!!'. Munkley was represented by Mr Tagg, of Bertram Mather & Co of Chesterfield. Pencil NUM notes dated 17 December 1958 stated: ' Mr Tagg says he went to the Hospital on Monday to see Mr Muirhead who was most apologetic but said his typewriter had broken down and Ford's had it a long time for repair and when it came back his typist was off'. Mr Muirhead, Consultant Opthalmic Surgeon, report in February 1959 summarised the treatment and outcome since the accident in January 1949 and concluded: 'the cause of this man's symptoms is produced by the presence of a gap [...] on the iris and is aggravated by bright light, sunshine and glare. There is also a functional element present which tends to exaggerate the intensity of the symptoms'. |
