Further information: According to the Summary of facts on the Tribunal referral the claimant injured his hand in accident. Injury benefit was disallowed from 31 October 1958 after an examination, deciding that 'although the claimant was incapable of work, the incapacity was not due to the accident to the hand.' The Report of the Medical Officer dated 30 October 1958 states 'Not incapacitated by injury R. hand. Is incapacitated by senility and low blood pressure.' The appeal by the claimant was allowed on 19 February 1959. In the Notes of evidence, Mr Kitts states 'He has retired [...] Burn from belt is still visible on wrist.'
