Further information: Claimant had been in receipt of disablement benefit after a 40 per cent for life assessment topped up with Special Hardship Allowance because 'although claimant was able to earn £8 0s 6d a week, which is the regular wage of a bansman, he was unable to work overtime because of his disability and was suffering a loss of £2 1s 7d in overtime earnings'. Windley also had stated 'I also had my own part time business of chimney sweep'. Local Appeal 22 July 1958 was adjourned for evidence of overtime. Information from Colliery said: 'the job Windly was doing is now done mechanically' .
