The accident had been in 1948 and subsequent medical reports stated he was not fit to return to work due to emphysema and bronchitis primarily and gradually less because of loss of shoulder function. Claimant's grounds of appeal June 1958 stated: '[...] me being a coal miner for 32 years. The complaint I am suffering from could be [...] pneumoconiosis or silicosis. [...] Whilst there is life there is hope of getting to work again. Hoping you will consider my case with sympathy towards my age.' |
