He was examined on 14 August 1958 and the opinion of the medical officer was that he was fit to work in his usual occupation as draught door supervisor. The claim was for one day of injury benefit on 16 August 1958 when the Pit was closed. The tribunal disallowed the appeal on 23 September 1958 on the grounds that he 'fails to prove incapacity for work by reason of relevant injury on 16 August 1958.'
