He returned to his work as a coal face worker on 5 June 1955. Loss of faculty was initially assessed at 10 per cent from 5 June 1955 to 13 June 1957 and 30 per cent from 14 June 1957. He had an operation on 26 August 1957 and could only return to light work after which he claimed Special Hardship Allowance due to the difference in wages (on average £20 per week pre-accident and now £9 16 0 per week according to the Claimant's grounds of appeal dated 23 January 1958.). The most recent occupation is Conveyor Belt Operator. The tribunal hearing was set for 20 February 1958, but there is no paperwork relating to a result in the matter.
