Description | Date of birth: Marital status: Married Address: 10 High Street, Barlborough Type of benefit claimed: Special Hardship Allowance Type of injury: Shoulder, chest and rib injury Further information: Mr Buxton had an accident on 12 July 1955 when he injured his shoulder, chest and fractured his ribs. A claim for Special Hardship Allowance was turn down on 10 January 1956. Mr Buxton appealed in a letter dated 23 January 1956 on the grounds that he was unable to follow his regular occupation 'because of my disability as a result of the accident which I had on the 12/7/55.' A statement by his doctor on the Appeal information dated 23 February 1956 states Mr Buxton is fit for light work.On the tribunal Report of Proceedings dated 23 February 1956 (which found in favour of Mr Buxton) it is noted that Pre accident earnings were 52s 6d per shift and post accident earnings are 28s 9d per shift with his normal occupation being a packer. A handwritten note dated 24 February 1956 states that Hardship Allowance will be paid from 30 November 1955 to November 1956. |
