Further information: Deceased miner Graham Hodgkins. Claim was for Industrial Death Benefit. Majority decision: 'Death was not the result of injury, nor was it accelerated by accident.' Employee representative Minority decision): 'The probablility is that death was accelerated by his accident'. Mr Hodgkins was in receipt of Industrial Injury benefit from January 1954 until 2 days before his death (back strain / prolapsed disc ). Copy of death certificate. He died 8th July from carcinomatosis due to underlying stomach cancer. Initial hearing 14/09/1954 was adjourned.
