Title
Local Appeal Tribunal case file for Arnold Botham, aged 56, Ripper at Denby Hall
Date
1967
Description
Date of birth:
Marital status: Married
Address: 90 Warmwells Lane, Ripley
Type of benefit claimed: Injury benefit
Type of injury: Injury to chest
Further information: The claimant had a long history of hypertension and had a central retinal vein thrombosis in 1964. The accident occurred in 1967 when a fall of rock knocked him onto a moving belt and he felt he was walking 'veering to one side' with chest pain. Then over two weeks a hemiplegia developed. Consultant opinion suggested that the accident could have caused a temporary rise in blood pressure which precipitated the cerebral thromboais but this was not certain. Appeal letter signed by Doris Botham pp A. Botham.
