He estimates his average weekly earnings as £7 18s 0d. He was diagnosed with Beat knee on 7th May 1952 and had been working as a Ripper for 30 years. His estimated earnings were £12 per week in that role. Old occupation: coal miner (ripper)- 'ripping down stone to a height of 12 feet, which necessitated working on scaffolds, using pick, hammer, ringer and shovels.' Mr Heeley notified tribunal he would not attend.
