Further information: The Report of Proceedings of the tribunal dated 8 February 1952 states in the claimant's evidence 'At about 3.45.p.m when I walked along Shipley Road lane to the bus I felt a sharp stiffening pain at the back of my right knee. I caught my bus and went home. I didn't take much notice of it until I'd had my tea, and then I found my knee was very swollen. I had a neighbour rub my knee and next day my wife sent for the doctor who said I was suffering from beat knee.' The claimant also states it is very common for him to knock himself in his occupation but that it is possible the injury has built up over time. Question over whether this should be treated as an accident or as a Prescribed Industrial Disease.
