Title | Local Appeal Tribunal case file for Frank Johnson, aged 55, Coal Miner at Parkhouse |
Date | 1950 |
Description | Date of birth: 26/03/1895 Marital status: Married Address: Park Lane, Shirland Type of benefit claimed: Injury benefit Type of injury: Not given Further information: Johnson claimed injury benefit for one day only - 19 September 1950 - and claimed he was at a disadvantage because he mostly worked night shifts, and that he could not claim the same benefits as a day worker as there was always too much 'overlapping time, between the first day and last day of sickness or accident, off the night shift worker'. Johnson had resumed work at 10.30pm on 19 September, and had received benefit up to and including 18 September. There is no official confirmation of the tribunal's decision; a letter from the NUM to Johnson dated 8 November 1950 states that the chairman of the tribunal and had ruled in the latter's favour. |
