D'Ewes Coke (1774-1856)
Description
D'Ewes Coke was the eldest son of the Reverend D'Ewes Coke of Brookhill and his wife Hannah Heywood. He trained as a barrister and acted as land agent to the Duke of Rutland from 1811 to 1839.
In 1797 he married Harriet Wright of Mapperley Hall (d 1815), Nottinghamshire, with whom he had ten children: Harriet Frances (1800-1883), Elizabeth Anne (1802-1882), Francis Lillyman D'Ewes (1804-1873), William Sacheverell (1805-1986), Edward Thomas (1807-1888), Sarah Sophia (1808-1891), Mary Agnes (1809-1882), Emma Isabella (1810-1886), John Henry (1811-1889), Richard George (1813-1889)
