Copy appointment and release (lease missing) by Joseph Wilson of Carnfield Hall to William Wilson and George Wilson of Alfreton and Thomas Radford of Carnfield Hall Reciting a mortgage between 1. Joseph Wilson 2. Thomas Radford 3. Henry Cox of Parkfield next Derby, dated 1834, of coal, ironstone and minerals, as security to Cox for £8,500 with interest at 4%, £5,350 being now due; subject also to security to Messrs. Wylde & Co. for principal sum of £2,000, and to the interest of Mrs. Langhorne for her life in a moiety; further reciting that Joseph is entitled to equity of redemption of fee simple lands in Outseats, Normanton and Brackenfield subject to mortgage in £7,400 with interest, and that Joseph is entitled under the marriage settlement of Thomas Radford and Isabella Wilson dated 1829 to remainders and contingent remainders of estates of various persons (specified) now living; further reciting that Joseph having immediate occasion for £4,600, William, George and Thomas have agreed to advance him this sum upon repayment with interest secured. In consideration of £4,600 for release of mines of coal, ironstone and other minerals under messuages and lands in South Normanton specified, seams of coal called the Birchwood Hard and Soft Coal got by a dead level to be driven from shafts sunk in the nether Rough Close and the Stone pit close; also a dwelling house with lands called Outseats, a messuage in South Normanton and lands in Brackenfield, in trust to sell, retaining out of the money reached £4,600 with interest at 5%. 18 Jan
