Administrative History
Fairfield was formerly a chapelry of Hope (see D1828). The River Wye divided Fairfield from Buxton and, therefore, Hope from Bakewell parish. A number of Burbage and Buxton burials are recorded in these registers. Fairfield became a separate parish in 1852.
