| Administrative History | In his will, Rowland Morewood (1615-1647) left rent charges out of land in Alfreton for the poor. White's Directory of 1857 states that by 1774 the land comprised Drunken Closes, Alfreton and Wheat Fields, Over Housteads, Birchwood and consisted of 27 acres and 11 perches, with a cottage and barn. |
