Title
Somercotes County primary schools. The Infants school here was opened in 1867, followed by a National school for boys in 1874 and Girls in 1894. These were supported by the firm of J and H Oakes of Riddings. The schools subsequently became Council schools in 1903. For records received from the Infants school, see D2743/C. for managers minutes of Somercotes secondary school, 1948-1952, see D1389/CE/8/4.
