Description	Testator to be buried near wife Margaret in Sandon church, Staffordshire; 6lb wax to be burned at burial; mass vestments to Sandon; cope to Salt church, Staffordshire; legacies to Alstonfield church, Burston chapel, St Luke's chapel, to abbot and choir of Hilton; to Grey Friars and Austin Friars of Stafford and cathedral convents of Coventry and Lichfield. 20 nobles for marriages of 20 poor maidens, cash legacies to kinsmen; cattle to servants; a priest at Beresford for 3 years to be lodged by testator's son Robert and paid by executors; 4d to every priest at funeral; 2d to every surpliced clerk and 1d to every man, woman and child. Testator's eldest son Robert and his heir Louis to have inherited and purchased land on condition that Robert, his wife Mary and Louis live at Beresford, are of good demeanour and take Executors' advice; to have for setting up house in Beresford 6 oxen, 10 kyne, 1 bull, 100 wethers, 60 ewes, 2 horse, 3 mares, 8 great silver apostle spoons and household stuff at executors' discretion. If Robert refuses to go to Beresford, to have only his legal portion. Farms and tithes to be reserved on good demeanour of son, Richard, to have part of farms as executors instructed if he can be married; in meantime to have 40 marks of goods and be controlled by executors. Richard and his goods to be put to John's son in law Nicholas Riggley, provided that sufficient surety can be found for goods and to stay there until executors can provide for him by marriage. George son of testator's daughter Cicill of whom John has bought wardship and marriage to be put to school and reversion of his land to be saved to his person and use by discretion of executors. Executors to be testator's sons in law and others; overseer to be Sir John Aston who is to have 100s for horse. Date of will 29 Nov 1522 Proved in Prerogative Court of Canterbury 29 Mar 1522/3
