This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
In Brookhead old founder This plan drawn by George Hayward, Senr. c1770. Surveyor: George Hayward Senior. Scale: 128 yds in an 1 inch[1: 4600]. Size: 32 x 41 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK225775 Notes: mining plan showing veins etc. measured in yards: Ladywash Old Vein, Old Stoke Sough, Maycliff, Ladywash North Easterly Vein, Bagshaw Breck, Marsden Vein, Magclough Vein.
